I'm Mr Ao. When I was 10 years old, my father asked me what I wanted to do when I grow up. At that moment, I didn't know how to respond to him. After several days of investigating various careers with my older brother, I went up to my dad and said I wanted to become a teacher so that I can care for others.
My job is not just to pass on knowledge to my students but also help them discover their creativity, and individualism. Methodologies used include cooperative learning strategies, modeling, learning through inquiries, hands-on activities, and self-assessment. I am committed to excellence and creating a safe environment that is stimulating and encouraging.
One of my hobbies include photography. Here are some photos I've taken throughout the years. Let me know what are your thoughts about these photos =)

- I am committed to creating a classroom environment that is free and safe for students to think and express their ideas in order to promote their personal growth. It means fostering a classroom culture with an emphasis on respect, dignity, and honesty. I will be authentic, and am willing to share details about my life and display elements of humanity. These goals are achieved when my students freely approach me and ask questions without fear.
- I need to embrace and celebrate the opportunity to teach and inspire students not only through academic means but also through character development. I will teach my students to learn through trial and error. I will openly admit any mistakes and act as a positive role model, demonstrating it is safe for them to take risks and embrace every moment of reflection and growth.
- I am dedicated to the highest level of teaching practices that encourage students to think critically and to self-reflect. This means making an ongoing effort to listen to what my students are saying, understand their concerns and act on this appropriately. I will create lessons that can capture the students’ interest so they can be engaged and be willing to share their knowledge with others. Often, for me, this takes the form of having the students go through inquiry based learning and experiential learning. I believe it is my duty to cultivate my students’ curiosity so that they can begin to take active roles in their learning process.
- I believe my personal approach greatly shapes the environment. I possess tremendous power to make someone's life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture and hurt or an instrument of inspiration and healing. In all circumstances, my responses to a situation can either humanise or dehumanise a person’s life.
